Currently underway at the High Court in London is a civial trial between Prince Harry and Associated Newspapers Limited (ANL), Publisher of The Daily Mail and The Mail On Sunday over allegations that the publisher of being “clear, systematic and sustained” when gathering unlawfull information between the periods of 1993 and 2010.

Harry is not the only one to point these alegations as 6 other high profile claimants such as Elton John & Elizabeth Hurley to name just a few. Tactics allegedly included:

  • Intercepting live phone calls and voicemails.
  • Hiring private investigators to bug homes and cars.
  • “Blagging” of private medical records, bank accounts, and flight details.
  • Paying corrupt police officers for sensitive information.

Harrys Laywers stated that the publishers actions left him “paranoid beyond belief” and possibly in somecases causing strain on relationships. The original investigation started back in 2019 and althroughout, ANL have denyed all and any wrongdoing and went as far to label the claims as “preposterous smears”, stating that no illegal activity was performed.

The Trial has started as of January 2026 with Prince Harry expected to present evidence on the 22nd, something quite uncommon for someone as senior in the Royal Family as Harry. The other claimants are also expected to give remote Testimonies.

Only time can tell the outcome of this trial however with the way the case is going at this moment, it seems like the Daily Mail will be getting a different kind of Royal Treatment.
