Dutch Artist Joost Klein SUSPENDED from Eurovision Song Contest 2024 GRAND FINAL

Following his performance in Thursday night’s Semi Final of the Eurovision Song Contest, Dutch artist Joost Klein will not be competing in the Grand Final. This decision stems from an incident involving a female member of the production crew, which prompted an investigation by Swedish police. While the legal process unfolds, it has been deemed inappropriate for Klein to continue in the competition. It’s important to note that the incident solely involves Klein and does not implicate any other performer or delegation member.

In a press statement from the European Broadcasting Union, they stated that “The Eurovision Song Contest organizers emphasize their commitment to maintaining a safe and secure environment for all staff involved in the event. They assert a zero-tolerance policy towards any form of inappropriate behavior, and Klein’s actions towards a team member have been deemed a breach of Contest rules. Consequently, his participation in the Grand Final has been revoked.”

With Klein’s withdrawal, the Grand Final of the 68th Eurovision Song Contest will proceed with 25 participating songs, as originally planned. This development underscores the importance of upholding standards of conduct and ensuring the well-being of all individuals involved in the prestigious music competition.
